Eitz Chaim Schools is looking for our next Administrative Assistant – Could It Be You?


The mission of Eitz Chaim Schools is to provide a nurturing and inspiring educational program for students. We promote Ahavas Yisrael for all Jews and foster life skills that enable students to make a  Kiddush Hashem in the wider Jewish community and world.

Our workplace is a warm, supportive culture, where staff members feel like family.  We are currently seeking a capable and competent person to fill the role of administrative assistant to the General Studies principal at our Thornhill Campus.

This position is part-time, and will last for the entirety of the 2024/2025 school year.

Salary is competitive and related to qualifications.

As an administrative assistant, your role will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of various documents
  • Being an important communications hub for our lively, ever-changing school environment
  • Answering calls in a friendly, competent and efficient manner
  • Collaborating with the entire team
  • Hours 10am-3pm Monday to Thursday, and Fridays depending on dismissal time

  • Creating, updating and maintaining digital files and databases
  • Prioritizing and responding to emails
  • Tracking staff absences and booking substitute teachers
  • Responding to requests from students, parents, and staff
  • Assisting in the organizing and scheduling of events such as meetings and other school events
  • Placing and tracking orders, maintaining supply inventory
  • Creating posters and flyers with graphics for school events
  • Other duties as assigned by the administrators

  • Are EXTREMELY detail oriented!
  • Have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a professional school office environment
  • Excellent computer literacy in G Suite, Microsoft office, Mailchimp and more.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English with the ability to compose effective correspondence independently
  • Excellent people skills and a love of working with children
  • Self-motivated and independent worker combined with the ability to collaborate with team members
