Beit Issie Shapiro is Israel’s leading developer and provider of innovative services for children and adults across the entire range of disabilities impacting on over half a million people annually. The Canadian Friends of Beit Issie Shapiro (CFOBIS) is dedicated to supporting their work.


Job Description:

CFOBIS is seeking a highly organized individual with a solid financial and administrative background, capable of effective multitasking. The successful candidate will invoice based on an hourly rate and will report to the President of Board.


Responsibilities include:

Financial Management

  • Income and expense record keeping in QuickBooks
  • Bank deposits, wire transfers
  • Pay invoices (cheque, e-transfer or Float)
  • Monthly financial reporting and bank reconciliation
  • Liaise with treasurer and accounting firm for year-end procedures and reporting
  • Annual Corporations Canada filing

Donor Relations

  • Database management – process donations, receipting, and reports
  • Track and report on events, campaigns and donors
  • Coordinate email and mail campaigns to donors
  • Responsive to needs & requests from donors

Event and Campaign Assistance

  • Set up online event registration and payment
  • Liaison with event sponsors, volunteers, vendors
  • Provide event support including invite lists invitations,
  • Event follow up – coordination with suppliers.

Board Support

  • Schedule CFOBIS board meetings
  • Take minutes at board meetings
  • Lead and follow up on Board projects
  • Responsive to CFOBIS board requests

General Administration

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day projects as needed
  • Support the National Manager who will be focused on fundraising and donor relations
  • Support the Event Coordinators for a variety of annual fundraising events
  • Other administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of CFOBIS
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proficient in Quick Books
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience in conducting and managing virtual meetings
  • Experience working with CRM software – Donor Perfect experience preferred
  • Experience working with online marketing platforms – Constant Contact experience preferred
  • Prior work in a charitable organization would be an advantage
