Kayla’s Children Centre is looking for enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated lifeguards to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will support the vision of creating the most meaningful and healthy futures for all children, youth, and families by providing a safe aquatic environment for children, youth, and adults who do and don’t have disabilities in a fully integrated setting. You will provide supervision for our non-instructional and recreational aquatics program.

Responsibilities 

As a hybrid Instructor/Lifeguard, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring instructional and recreational swimming activities, including patrolling the pool deck and scanning the water, as well as monitoring patrons and volunteers to ensure a safe swim environment.
• Instructing and leading group or individual lessons: creating and implementing weekly lesson plans.
• Enforcing the Ministry Health Regulations, maintaining appropriate daily records and documentation, and reporting any relevant information to the appropriate supervisor.
• Carrying an aid at all times, performing emergency rescues to the standard of your certifications, responding to patron inquiries, resolving problems, and performing associated public education duties.
• Setting up the pool deck prior to your shift & cleaning the deck following your shift.
• Attendance at all scheduled staff training.
• Keeping all awards current.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Job type: Full-time, on-site.

Pay:  $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule: 8 hour shifts Sunday to Thursday
