Camp Administrator / Office Manager

Camp Shalom is looking for a part-time or full-time Camp Administrator / Office Manager.  This individual will work from our Toronto Office during the year (virtual accommodations possible) and move up to Gravenhurst to run the camp office for the summer (full time – End of June to Mid-August). The Camp Administrators responsibilities are wide ranging and varied including record keeping and organization, interaction with camper families and staff, financial and managerial assistance. This is an excellent opportunity to use organizing and personal skills in a friendly, supportive and creative environment.


Responsibilities include:

  • Managing communications with parents, campers and camp (phone and e-mail and social media)
  • Oversight of camper online registration and database
  • Collecting and processing payment of camper fees
  • Management and collection of supplemental camper forms (medical, scholarship, travel)
  • Preparation, distribution and collection of counsellor administrative documents (contracts, medical, tax forms)
  • Arrangements for camper & counsellor travel logistics (buses, cartage, boarding passes)
  • Assisting with camp marketing design & plans, including social media posts and monitoring
  • Updating camp website
  • Support of camper clothing ordering and sales
  • Collecting, maintaining and assessing both accounting and operational data
  • Sourcing and ordering camp supplies
  • Prepare spreadsheets, organizational charts etc., using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook e-mail, online payments systems)
  • Other administrative duties, as assigned
  • Attending occasional camp information sessions & open houses

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be proficient and comfortable in general computer usage and office programs;
  • Have knowledge, experience and proficiency in media, marketing and communications
  • Have excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Be professional, mature and well-organized;
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • University/College Degree (Arts, Marketing, Commerce, Media, Communication) is an advantage
  • Minimum of one year office experience with emphasis on customer service via telephone/in-person; experience collecting customer accounts
  • Web familiarity and skills are an advantage.
