DANI is an innovative and growing community based agency that provides services to adults with developmental disabilities. DANI’s person centred, holistic, strength based approach focuses on community engagement and empowering individuals to enhance their overall quality of life.
DANI is looking for enthusiastic, energetic and reliable people to fill the position of Day Program Coordinator. This individual will join our innovative and dynamic Ace Day Program Staff Team.
Location : Clark Campus – 501 Clark Ave. West. Thornhill, ON.
Work Days: Monday to Friday- 40 hours/week
Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm.
- Attend and actively participate in daily morning and afternoon meeting
- Observe and assess participant needs/situations and communicate it to the team.
- Develop and implement programs for groups of 4-16 participants based on participant goals and interests.
- Support staff who are leading programs to ensure participants are involved and engaged.
- Supervise and manage participants during community outings using proper procedures.
- Responsible for a caseload of 3-5 participants which involves; communicating with families, supporting the individual goal setting processes; communicating with staff to ensure appropriate program placement, reviewing progress with families and writing reports.
- Support participants in achieving their goals in vocational placements.
- Advocate for participants in the program, community and families.
- Coach participants to independently complete daily living activities.
- Complete all admin work (reports, phone calls, email) in a timely and professional manner
Qualificatons:
- Related college/university diploma or degree.
- Experience in program development and implementation focusing on participants needs.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with developmental challenges or in a related field.
- Proven record of working effectively as part of a service delivery team/
- Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organization and the ability to work independently.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening police check.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License is an asset.
