THE OPPORTUNITY
The Ottawa Vaad Hakashrut is seeking an exceptional and dynamic individual to work as a full-time Mashgiach with a local catering facility in our food service department. The successful candidate will join our team of professionals and will report to the Director of the Vaad. We expect this position to begin by June 8, 2021.

ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
As the successful candidate, you appreciate the significance of the Ottawa Vaad Hakashrut in the community, and the important role which the Mashgiach occupies within the Vaad. You understand your responsibility in delivering uncompromising excellence in Kashrut, within a Jewish community made up of individuals of diverse backgrounds and varying degrees and methods of observance.
Remuneration for this role will be based upon experience and abilities, including a competitive salary, health benefits and a relocation package.
ABOUT THE VAAD
The Ottawa Vaad Hakashrut is a department of The Jewish Federation of Ottawa, and is the single Kosher certifying agency in Ottawa, Canada. We are a proud member of The Association of Kashrus Organizations and maintain a positive working relationship with Kosher certifying agencies in Canada and beyond.
The Ottawa Vaad Hakashrut fosters positive relationships within our team of Mashgichim, and within our community. We proudly maintain the highest standards of Kashrut.
ABOUT OTTAWA
Ottawa is the capital city of Canada and home to 15,000 Jews, with a feeling of a mid-size community.
There are approximately 200 Orthodox families who live in four different areas. The community has a mikvah, yeshiva high schools for boys and girls, eight Orthodox minyanim on Shabbos morning, a wide variety of learning opportunities and shiurim, a large kosher section in a major grocery store, two kosher cafes on the Jewish community campus and two kosher coffee shops.
Ottawa is a two-hour drive to Montreal, a four-hour drive to Toronto, and an eight-hour drive to New York.
