Beth Torah Congregation (BTC) serves the spiritual, communal and educational needs of more than 400 families with warmth and vibrancy in a family-style atmosphere. A conservative shul for over 65 years, we have been at the nexus of tradition and modernity. We offer the wisdom of the ages gleaned from the Torah while speaking to the concerns of our congregants with relevance and meaning.
The Membership & Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for implementing BTC’s strategies to connect to members by building strong relationships, enhancing the overall member experience, and promoting the synagogue’s programs and services. This role requires outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively manage tasks and priorities.
Member Engagement
Community Engagement: Facilitate opportunities for members to become part of the community through the identification of programs and events that meet their interests
Social Media Engagement: Create and implement social media strategy for community engagement, design and post material on various social media platforms, manage synagogue social media accounts
Donation Management: Assist with and track donations, prepare and send tribute cards, and management of donor recognition plaques and boards
Communications: Create, design, and prepare temple communications with members, including weekly bulletins and holiday newsletters
Programming, Events & Logistics
Committee Partnership: Work with synagogue committees to facilitate and execute programs and events, including but not limited to planning, marketing, and logistics
Event Registration and Promos: Develop and design promos for events and programs, set up registration forms for events, track online registrations for all events and programs
Program & Event Logistics: Ordering food/groceries, coordinating all logistical set-ups, assist in coordinating space rentals and contracts
Facilities Logistics: Prepare weekly custodian work schedules and event set-up sheets, and monthly security schedules
Calendar & Website: Maintain BTC calendar and website, including scheduling events, programs, registration forms, links, and promotional materials
High Holy Days Management: Coordinate all outside vendors, manage volunteers, assist with ticket design and distribution, design and prepare all High Holy Days promotional material, including Yizkor Book
Other Duties: Provide support for various administrative tasks as assigned.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, in person, permanent position to commence as soon as possible.
Salary range is $52,000 – $58,000 annually
Qualificatons:
Community Building Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to engage comfortably and sensitively with members of all ages, ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with initiative.
Technical Skills: Expertise in Google Workspace, MailChimp, WordPress, Design programs (Canva), and CRM systems (preferably ShulCloud) or the ability to learn new software.
Organizational Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, organizational abilities, and prioritization skills.
Attention to detail: Ability to notice and accurately process the small but important aspects of tasks, assignments, or projects.
Education: Post-secondary education in a relevant field.
Experience: At least three (3) years of relevant experience; prior experience working in the Jewish community is considered an asset.
