Program Coordinator – Learning & Literacy

JIAS Toronto is seeking a Program Coordinator – Learning and Literacy to develop and implement programs that support the settlement, integration, and well-being of immigrants and refugees. This role ensures programs are customized, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate to meet client needs, funder requirements, and JIAS deliverables.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs supporting newcomer settlement and well-being.
  • Identify participants through referrals, outreach, and agency caseloads.
  • Coordinate program marketing, outreach, and volunteer recruitment.
  • Cultivate community partnerships and provide educational programming.
  • Monitor and evaluate program activities to meet deliverables.
  • Support program budgets, financial monitoring, and reporting requirements.
  • Plan and execute logistics for programming initiatives.
  • Report metrics to funders and stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings and events as required, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.
Qualificatons:

Candidates require a degree or diploma in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field, with experience in curriculum development or pedagogy. Experience in the settlement, non-profit, or social service sectors, along with strong communication, organizational, and Microsoft Office skills, is essential. Salesforce experience is preferred. Ability to travel within the GTA is required. Fluency in languages relevant to JIAS Toronto’s client base is an asset.
