Job Details:
Holy Blossom Temple (HBT) in Toronto, ON: 1950 Bathurst Street
Shift and schedule – Monday to Friday (Friday earlier dismissal)
Competitive Pay – $24.00 – $34.00 per hour including paid lunch
Paid sick days, personal days, and vacation days (school closures) per calendar year
Next start date: July 2025
Full-time, permanent employment available for year-round teachers
Including above plus

The Opportunity

Since the 1960’s, the ECC has been offering a high quality, warm, nurturing and stimulating, educational, play-based program. We have expanded our programming and are seeking additional educators to join our team. We offer a morning toddler (9-11:30), school day preschool (9-2:55) and full day toddler and preschool (8-5:30). The school operates Monday to Friday (Friday earlier dismissal), 12 months.

We are looking for Registered Early Childhood Educators and Assistants to join our incredible teaching team. Our RECEs work in a collaborative teaching environment and report directly to the Director of the ECC.

 

 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a dedicated and creative teacher.  Professional and collaborative.  Able to adjust to the ECC culture and particular nuances that make the ECC and HBT so unique.  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal professionally and cordially with parents, clergy, synagogue employees and visitors.  Must be a team player!

Qualificatons:

Requirements for RECE

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • At least 2 years’ experience working as an ECE
  • Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario, member in good standing
  • Qualifications for the RECE position will include knowledge of ELECT, and Children’s Services Quality Assurance.

For both RECE and Assistant

  • Current immunization record
  • Valid first aid and CPR certification Level C
  • Recent Vulnerable Sector Police background check (done within 6 months of start date with us)
  • Interest in working in a Reform Jewish environment (being Jewish is not required, being a “mensch” is required – feel free to look it up!)
  • Enjoy being a team player and possess a passion for working with children
  • Desire to continue to learn and grow in the early childhood profession
  • Ability to plan for both and emergent and theme-based curriculum
  • Strong and professional communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Hard working, dedicated, enthusiastic with a genuine love for children
