ABOUT THE GLENHILL HOTEL
Opening in 2026 at Bathurst and Glencairn, The Glenhill Hotel will be Canada’s first full-service kosher boutique hotel, offering a distinctive hospitality experience in the heart of Toronto’s Jewish community. Located within the Glenhill Condominium development, the hotel will welcome both visiting guests and the surrounding community, while also supporting condominium residents through dining and event programming.
The property will feature:
- 23 luxury guest rooms and suites
- A ballroom accommodating up to 171 guests
- A 40-seat Library venue for smaller gatherings
- Pre-function space and full-service catering facilities designed for social and community events
Food and beverage operations will be led by Two13 Kosher under the direction of renowned chef Joan Monfaredi, who will oversee the hotel’s kosher kitchen and catering program. The hotel will be professionally managed by Laundry Rooms Collective, who will oversee day-to-day hotel operations and on-site management. The event spaces will play a central role in the property’s operations, hosting weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, community celebrations, and private gatherings for both the broader community and condominium residents. The Food Service will be certified by the COR and all aspects of the food operations will need to adhere to COR directions regarding both kashrus and sabbath and holiday observance.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Catering & Community Sales Manager will lead catering sales and community engagement for the Glenhill Hotel, generating event revenue and building relationships within Toronto’s Jewish community. Reporting to the General Manager, this role oversees client relationships and serves as the primary liaison between clients, hotel operations, and the Two13 Kosher culinary team. As a key member of the pre-opening team, the successful candidate will help establish the catering program, event processes, and community relationships that will define the Glenhill Hotel’s event business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Catering Sales & Revenue Generation
- Proactively generate catering leads within Toronto’s Jewish and Orthodox communities
- Develop relationships with families, event planners, synagogues, schools, and community organizations
- Drive bookings for weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, community gatherings, and private celebrations
- Manage incoming inquiries and convert prospects into confirmed bookings
- Utilize Tripleseat to manage catering inquiries, track sales activity, and generate event documentation
- Identify upsell opportunities and maximize event profitability
Client Experience, Event Planning & Execution
- Serve as the primary client contact from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up
- Work with clients to define event requirements including menus, room setup, décor, and event timelines
- Prepare Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event proposals
- Coordinate event logistics including vendors, room layouts, and event timing
- Provide on-site oversight during events to ensure smooth execution and client satisfaction
- Provide post-event feedback to the General Manager and culinary team as needed
Community Engagement & Marketing Support
- Maintain an active presence within Toronto’s Jewish community and build relationships with community leaders, organizations, and event partners
- Position the Glenhill Hotel as a preferred venue for lifecycle events and community gatherings
- Develop relationships with Glenhill condominium residents, supporting private events, catered gatherings, and resident dining initiatives
- Represent the hotel at community and marketing events and support marketing initiatives by contributing event photography or content (with appropriate permissions)
Collaboration & Operational Support
- Work closely with the General Manager and the Two13 Kosher culinary team
- Provide feedback on catering packages, pricing, and event offerings
- Support the development of resident dining and room service offerings during the pre-opening phase
- Monitor resident dining feedback and recommend service improvements where appropriate
- Participate in monthly performance and strategy meetings with the General Manager and the Two13 Kosher culinary team, with ownership participation.
Professional Representation
- Represent the Glenhill Hotel with professionalism, discretion, and cultural awareness when interacting with clients, residents, and community members
- Uphold the service standards and reputation of the property during all client interactions and events
- Maintain strong attention to detail and hospitality standards consistent with a boutique luxury property
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Success in this role will be measured through achievement of catering revenue targets, effective management of the sales pipeline and conversion of inquiries into confirmed bookings, strong client satisfaction and repeat community events, and close collaboration with the General Manager and Two13 Kosher culinary team to ensure seamless event execution.
LOCATION & WORK ENVIRONMENT
The role is based full-time at the Glenhill Hotel, with office space available at the corporate head office during the pre-opening phase. Work schedules may vary depending on event activity and client needs. The position may occasionally require light lifting associated with event setup and coordination. No travel outside the Greater Toronto Area is expected.
COMPENSATION
- Base salary: $80,000, commensurate with experience
- Performance bonus: incentive structure tied to catering revenue and event sales performance

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, entrepreneurial, and highly organized, with the ability to engage the local community, generate sales opportunities, and ensure events are executed seamlessly.
Qualificatons:
- Experience in catering sales, hospitality sales, event planning, or community event management preferred
- Demonstrated ability to generate new catering business through proactive outreach and relationship development
- Strong understanding of kosher catering and Orthodox community requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software (Tripleseat and Mews considered an asset)
- Knowledge of social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook
- Candidates with strong connections within Toronto’s Jewish community or direct experience with Jewish lifecycle events (such as weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, and community celebrations) are particularly encouraged to apply.
