JOB PURPOSE

As the Job and Partnership Developer, you will primarily lead the development of Ve’ahavta’s new employment placement program, matching our pre-employment training program graduates with job opportunities which support their career goals and long term stability. In addition, you will play a key role in the establishment of our catering social enterprise by identifying consumer channels and supporting the rollout and implementation of this exciting new initiative.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this role, you will work closely with the Career Counsellor and other program team members to build out a system and strategy for placing our program graduates into job roles. A key part of this process will be to identify employers who would like to participate in this socially conscious initiative, as well as build relationships with the employers to ensure a smooth and positive experience for both the employer and the participant. Through your efforts, you will identify challenges and gaps, and measure and report on outputs and outcomes in order to ensure we are offering the most effective and impactful service.

In the realm of building and developing new initiatives, you will also have the opportunity to work directly with the CEO of Ve’ahavta in establishing a catering social enterprise. This initiative not only provides a revenue stream to support our social service programs, but it also provides individuals facing barriers to employment with culinary skills training and experience in our onsite commercial kitchen. With your entrepreneurial and people skills, you will seek out opportunities to build the “business” through relationship development, promotional efforts (in collaboration with the communications department), and operational systems.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys blending people skills with strategy, thrives on helping others, navigating challenges, and has the drive to turn ideas into measurable results.

Qualificatons:
  • A minimum of 2-3 years in a job development, business development, or partnership- building role, ideally within the nonprofit sector or social enterprise environment
  • A degree or diploma in Business Administration/Management, Social Services, or a related field
  • Highly values-driven, experience and passion for supporting marginalized individuals
  • Strong understanding of the complex challenges of individuals facing socio-economic barriers to employment
  • Possesses a client-centred and trauma-informed approach which is inclusive and compassionate
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Self-starter with innate drive and passion
  • A visionary mindset with the ability to turn ideas into tangible results
  • A true person who excels at building meaningful connections
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Salary range for this role is $55k-59k.
