The Role

The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for executing and supporting marketing and communications efforts across the school. This role plays a key part in strengthening visibility, supporting enrollment, and building community engagement by sharing the Heschel story in a clear, consistent, and compelling way.

You will work closely with the Director of Admissions & Marketing and the Director of Development & Community Engagement, contributing both day-to-day execution and thoughtful input on how to strengthen our marketing efforts.

 

This is a full-time, in-person role based at the school.

 

What You’ll Do

• Plan, create, and manage content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), including posts, reels, and stories
• Capture and edit photos and short-form video of daily school life, events, and key initiatives
• Write, design, and distribute communications including newsletters, announcements, event materials, and internal documents
• Create promotional materials such as flyers, advertisements, and digital assets
• Maintain and update website content using WordPress
• Organize and manage digital assets (photos, videos, design files)
• Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns related to enrollment, events, and community initiatives
• Track and analyze social media performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve engagement and growth
• Review, edit, and format communications to ensure clarity, accuracy, and brand consistency
• Respond to internal communications and design requests and manage workflow effectively
• Contribute to key school projects including the annual calendar and Grade 8 yearbook

 

Additional Expectations

• Participate in both in-school and off-site activities, some of which may take place outside regular working hours
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across Admissions, Development, and other departments

Qualificatons:

• 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or digital media
• Proven writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English, at a professional level
• Experience planning and managing social media content calendars, including scheduling and publishing using tools such as Hootsuite or similar platforms
• Experience creating engaging social media content and analyzing performance to inform improvements
• Experience with photography, videography, and editing tools
• Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact)
• Proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Experience updating and managing websites using WordPress
• Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and cloud-based tools
• Hebrew language skills are an asset

Additional Comments:

Compensation & Application

  • We offer a competitive salary in the range of $60,000–$70,000, commensurate with experience, along with an employer-paid benefits plan and generous vacation allocation.
